Frequently asked questions

Here are some of the questions we frequently get asked about our CITB training courses.

Can I attend the virtual CITB Temporary Works Coordinator course on a smart phone?

As the CITB Temporary Works Coordinator course is a 2-day course, we do not allow delegates to complete the course on a smart phone. The smaller screen size will make following the tutor difficult over 2 days, as well as getting involved in the interactive activities and completing the assessment. If you do not have access to any device other than a smart phone, then a classroom-based course might be a better option for you. Contact one of our team to discuss what your options are.

Is lunch included on virtual courses?

Lunch and refreshments are not included for your virtual course or on most classroom courses. You’ll have plenty of breaks to make yourself a tea or grab some snacks though.

What are online virtual courses?

Online virtual courses give you the same training as you would receive in a classroom course. The difference is that your trainer is on your screen instead of in front of you in a classroom. The training is live and in real-time with the trainer taking you through the course in the same way as a classroom course. The content and qualification awarded are also the same but the presentation is modified to make the online experience interesting and engaging.

What's is the difference if I take the virtual course rather than a classroom course?

The answer is simple no travelling, you will have:-
  • Exactly the same trainers
  • Same course content and learning hours
  • Gain the same qualification
You don't need to be worried about the technology we will support you with guidance, if you have difficulty with joining the course or at any other difficulty during the course.

What’s the difference between virtual and elearning?

Elearning courses are made up of course materials that you read, listen to and watch. Our virtual courses are more like classroom courses except you are viewing your tutor and the presentation on your screen. You learn alongside other delegates, take part in group activities and discussions, share stories and situations from your workplace and get advice from your tutor and classmates. Elearning you learn at your own pace, choosing to do it all at once, an hour at a time however you like, virtual courses have set times just like a classroom course.

Is this course CITB approved?
