What is the S007 Sub Duct and Cable Installation Open Course?
Open Courses are face-to-face training courses at a venue. PIA courses contain practical elements, which make them unsuitable for any delivery other than in a classroom with a trainer.
The S007 course is for engineers and contractors working on Openreach infrastructure to gain their S007 Sub Duct and Cable Installation certification. The course takes two days to complete, and the accreditation lasts for three years.

S007 Sub Duct and Cable Installation Course Details
On receiving payment for your classroom-based S007 Sub Duct and Cable Installation, an email with your ‘course joining instructions’ is sent to you.
This document includes the following details:
- The date of your chosen course
- Course start time at the venue
- Address of your chosen venue, including a map screenshot
- Details of what to do if you need any special requirements to complete the course, such as a physical disability or a learning or reading difficulty
- Any equipment or PPE you need to bring
You need to bring photographic ID, such as a driving licence or passport with you.
Lunch is not included, so please provide your own.
Prerequisites
To be able to attend and complete the S007 PIA Pole Survey course, you will need to have previously completed and hold the SA002 Underground Safety certificate, and the NRSWA Signing, Lighting and Guarding Operative Unit (Unit O1).
