What is the EUSR SHEA Water Course?
SHEA Water provides the essential safety, health and environmental awareness required for anyone needing access to operational water sites — from clean water treatment works to wastewater networks. The programme follows the Energy & Utility Skills (EUSR) scheme and, upon successful assessment, leads to EUSR registration, which is used across the industry.

Your card will be valid for 3 years
EUSR CSCS Partner Card
You must complete all eight modules and pass the SHEA Water assessment to gain EUSR SHEA Water registration. This card scheme enables utility workers to access CSCS-controlled construction sites and was designed to eliminate the need for multiple cards and qualifications.
Once you have completed the course, you will be added to the register and be able to purchase a virtual or physical plastic card.
Your card will be valid for 3 years.

EUSR SHEA Water Course Content
Module 1: Understanding Our Workplace Responsibilities
Learn about legal duties, employer/employee responsibilities, and the importance of safe working behaviour.
Module 2: Understanding the Effects of Our Work on the Environment
Covers environmental responsibilities, pollution prevention, and sustainable practices.
Module 3: Identifying and Controlling Risks
Introduces risk assessment, control measures, and safe systems of work.
Module 4: Common Hazards and Controls in the Workplace
Identify a range of common physical hazards and minimise their impact in the workplace, in line with CSCS requirements.
Module 5: Occupational Health Hazards
Discusses exposure to hazardous substances, noise, vibration, and mental health awareness. It will help you identify, mitigate, and minimise occupational health hazards in the workplace.
Module 6: Responding to Emergencies
Covers emergency procedures, first aid, fire response, and incident reporting, and highlights how workplace health and safety standards impact both employers and employees.
Module 7: Clean and Waste Water Operations (water specific module)
Addresses contamination risks, hygiene protocols, and emergency response in water environments.
Module 8: Highway working and excavations (water specific module)
Focuses on safe working practices in highways and near underground services, including the use of barriers and signage to ensure safety.

Assessment and Certification
You will complete a multiple-choice test at the end of each module. Each module will have 4,5 or 6 questions at the end, and you must achieve at least 80% in each module to pass (equivalent to only one question incorrect in each module). You are allowed to retake each module test once.
Your certificate will be applied for by the training school and sent to you. You should receive your certificate within 4 weeks of your course.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal requirements to enrol. It is advised that you have a good knowledge of written and spoken English to attend this course.
