What is the EUSR SHEA Telecommunications Course?
SHEA Telecommunications Courses (Safety, Health, & Environmental Awareness) are designed to give those in the telecoms industry the knowledge and skills to work to a good standard of health and safety in line with HSE guidelines. From this course, you will gain a EUSR CSCS partner card, which will prove you have the level of health and safety knowledge necessary to access operational sites within the telecoms industry, whether you are an operative, a supervisor, or management, needing access on a temporary or permanent basis.
You study a total of 7 modules, 6 are core modules, which are covered in all SHEA courses, and 1 module that is specific to the UK telecoms industry.

EUSR CSCS Partner Card
To gain EUSR SHEA Telecommunications registration, you must complete all seven modules and pass the SHEA Telecommunications assessment. This card scheme provides utility workers with access to CSCS-controlled construction sites, simplifying the process by eliminating the need for multiple cards and qualifications.
Once you have completed the course successfully, you will be added to the register and issued a virtual or physical plastic card.
Your card will be valid for 3 years.

EUSR SHEA Telecommunications Course Content
Module 1: Understanding your workplace responsibilities
Get familiar with the legal framework and definitions related to workplace responsibilities for both individuals and employers.
Module 2: Understanding the effects of our work on the environment
Important environmental factors in the workplace and their effects on sustainability, including waste management.
Module 3: Identifying and controlling risks
Gain the ability to identify and control risks and hazards, and understand your role in preventing them through a range of positive and proactive health and safety behaviours.
Module 4: Common hazards and controls in the workplace
Identify a range of common physical hazards and minimise your impact in the workplace, in line with CSCS requirements.
Module 5: Occupational Health Hazards
Explore the concept of “occupational health” and the various health risks that can arise from job-related activities. You will learn to recognise, address, and reduce these hazards, ensuring a safer and healthier work environment.
Module 6: Responding to emergencies
Learn about the journey of gas from beach to meter and the risks associated with pressure-regulating gas installations.
Module 17: Working safely underground, in the highway and overhead

Assessment and Certification
You will complete a multiple-choice test at the end of each module. Each module will have 4, 5 or 6 questions at the end, and you must achieve at least 80% in each module to pass (equivalent to only one question incorrect in each module). You are allowed to have a second attempt at each module test. Each test takes 5 to 10 minutes, with a total of 35 questions.
Your certificate will be applied for by the training school and sent to you. You should receive your certificate within 4 weeks of your course.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal requirements to enrol. It is advised that you have a good knowledge of written and spoken English to attend this course.
